The Hospitality Guild is a group of parishioners dedicated to serving the supporting Our Lady of Knock Parish and its people. In response to the merger of our churches in 2025, the Hospitality Committee of St. Patrick Church and the Women's Guild of St. Mary Star of the Sea Church joined forces to form the Our Lady of Knock Hospitality Guild.
HISTORY OF OUR GROUPS
The former Hospitality Committee was formed as a group of motivated and engaged parishioners from St. Patrick Church with a focus on helping to maintain a welcoming environment for all parishioners and visitors. They worked to create opportunities for people to join in conversation, make connections, and build relationships with other members of our parish family. Additionally, the committee has also been charged with managing recent fundraising events and initiatives within the parish that provide a critical source of funding that will allow the church to grow, develop, and thrive in the years to come.
The Women's Guild of St. Mary Star of the Sea Church was a group open to women of all ages in the parish established at the request of Father Tiernan on May 3, 1920. These women worked for over 100 years to actively assist the church and the community in many ways. The Women's Guild's Mission was "To promote the spiritual and social welfare of the church, to assist in raising funds to be used for various projects within the parish, and to perform special works as assigned by the Reverend Pastor or his delegate." Most recently, the Guild provided excellent service to the community and opportunities for social events. This included offering yearly scholarships to young women graduating from high school, hosting events for the parish, providing hospitality after Masses on Saturdays and Sundays, and assisting the pastor in his initiatives.
